  1. The scripts in this directory are executed once when entering 
  2. runlevel 0.

  4. The scripts are all symbolic links whose targets are located in
  5. /etc/init.d/ .

  7. Generally it is not necessary to alter the scripts in this directory.
  8. Their purpose is to stop all services and to make the system ready
  9. for shutdown.
